Maintenance Supervisor – Food Processing (Poultry Plant)
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees day-to-day maintenance operations in a high-speed poultry processing facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes downtime, and maintains compliance with food safety, safety, and regulatory standards. The supervisor leads a team of maintenance technicians and coordinates preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead, schedule, and mentor maintenance technicians to ensure 24/7 coverage and efficient workflow in production, packaging, and refrigeration areas.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems used in poultry processing and further-processing operations.

Manage and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Ensure compliance with USDA, OSHA, SQF, and company food safety standards, including proper documentation of maintenance tasks.

Coordinate major repairs, line changeovers, and equipment installations with production leadership, engineering, and outside contractors.

Maintain accurate CMMS records, including work orders, parts usage, and maintenance history.

Monitor and maintain critical systems such as conveyors, deboning equipment, chillers, boilers, refrigeration systems, and high-speed packaging lines.

Support continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis (RCA) and equipment reliability projects.

Manage spare parts inventory, ordering, budgeting, and vendor relationships.

Promote a strong safety culture, conduct safety audits, and ensure all technicians follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures.

Qualifications:
5+ years industrial maintenance experience in food manufacturing; poultry preferred.

2+ years supervisory or lead technician experience.

Strong skills in mechanical, electrical, and automation troubleshooting.

Experience with CMMS systems, PM scheduling, and maintenance documentation.

Ability to work in cold/wet environments and around raw poultry.

Knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, LOTO, and plant safety standards.
